Health & Safety

All employers are responsible for the health and safety of their employees whilst they are at work.

Employers with five or more employees must prepare a written statement of their health and safety policy and make their employees aware of the document. The statement should include:-

  • A general outline of the employer's health and safety commitment.
  • An outline of the health and safety responsibilities of all concerned with the business.
  • The manner in which the policy will be implemented in order to minimize risks at work such as safety training and safe systems of work.

For further information the Health and Safety Executive run a helpline on 0541 545 500 and information is available on the website www.hse.gov.uk.
