How we investigate your claim

Clinical negligence claims need to be carefully investigated in stages in order to establish the strengths and weaknesses of the potential action. Detailed investigation is undertaken including :-

  • Obtaining your medical records and checking their content
  • Taking your instructions and preparing a statement about what happened to you.
  • Instructing a specialist medical expert/experts to consider what you have to prove i.e. whether or not the treatment was negligent and whether that negligence has caused you significant injury.
  • In some cases more than one medical report will be needed in order to establish whether you have a claim.
  • If the independent medical evidence supports your claim we may advise the issue of court proceedings.
